Frederico picked us up around 3 pm and off went to Monteriggioni. It is a tiny walled village with only 42 residents! We walked around for a bit and enjoyed the views. Frederico was able to give us some perspective and explained to us the surrounding areas and a bit of the history of the town.
After our visit to Monteriggioni, Frederico took us to Villa Trasqua, a winery. Villa Traqua is set in the heart of Tuscany. Located in Chianti region, it has breathtaking views of vineyards, Olive groves, fortresses and farmhouses.
Our tour guide was from Belgium and he was passionate about all aspects of wine. The delicate aspects of producing wine, the importance of food pairing with wine and then, of course, the enjoyment of drinking wine. We spent a few hours as he enthusiastically taught us about wine in general and Chianti wine in particular.
